Things More Interesting Than Fishing...
A couple hours at a local lake and a long list of things more interesting than fishing were discovered by Big C
Rocks, more rocks, throwing of rocks, sticks, breaking sticks, throwing sticks, trails, weeds that look like lettuce, bugs, smooshing the bugs, cows, cow poop.
Climbing rocks, pinecones, throwing pinecones at OMR and into the lake, ducks, birds, all the birds, seaweed, fire-rings, mysterious trash, old bottle caps, deer poop and a loose duck feather.
That's 24 things more interesting than hooking a fish.
It didnt matter, three generations of Mills boys standing near a lake and having a good time. The fish and fishing will come in good time. The quality time was and is unsurpassed in it's importance

The Eyeball....
There's something unique to every fish you catch.
It isnt the length, the fins, or the coloration. It's the eye.
So full of color. So full of life. So delicate.
Full of fright and adrenaline. They all tell a bit of a story, dont they?

Brookie Porn of the Gratuitous Nature
Yeah, I'm mega long arming it it.....who cares, it's a maaaaaasive brookie.
In the NW, lakes with brookies, ah hem....big brookies come few and far between. Somehow, some way, on two separate occasions I found a few of these thugs that cruise a lake 15 minutes from my house
Enjoy!
A few crazy things about these two fish:
1. Came on two separate trips
2. Literally were caught within 20 feet of each other
3. Have only caught brookies from that same spot on the lake
4. On the first trip, I was accompanied by some guy from MAINE. He only caught rainbows, and I only caught his state fish
Get some this spring!

Help, Im Rising, and I Cant Shed My Shuck....
This bug is soon to be in the corner of a jaw of a phat, healthy rainbow. Our annual Memorial Day trip to Chopaka is upon us. Let us feed them trout candy and drink brewskies and revel the merriment that it is.
There's something pretty special about a clockwork hatch and willing fish.
One week to go.
