Last year's event was a mega success, funding important research and a much needed boat slide that improves angler and river user access.

Spend any time at the Silver Bow Fly Shop, and you'll quickly see there's someone with a artist's eye producing some serious fly fishing photography.

Brother of owner Sean, Michael Visintainer's work breaths life to the walls of the fly shop and often times you see customers just walking around the shop just checking out all the stunning photographs.

The ability to tell the story of a trip through photos is something Michael does very, very well.

IF4 Spokane River Benefit

Care about the Spokane River and it's fishery?  You should probably join the Silver Bow Fly Shop April 4th for the International Fly Fishing Film Festival on April 4th at the Bing Crosby Theatre.

There's a big ol' raffle with guided trips, and save yourself some $$ by picking up your tickets up in advance at the shop.

All funds raised will go to the Spokane Falls chapter of Trout Unlimited to help support their projects for wild Redband Rainbow Trout recovery in the Spokane River basin.

From 9a-6p at the Silver Bow in Spokane, the annual Gear Swap descends upon the shop grounds.

It's a yard sale / fly fishing gear whore's nirvana.....and you can sell your gear and earn shop credit or cash in your pocket for the stuff that's collecting dust in your collection.

Millsfly and The Silver Bow Fly Shop Present...Low and Clear

February 19th, you have plans.

The Millsfly and Silver Bow Fly Shop's 2nd Annual Film Benefit for the Wild Steelhead Coalition is on again and this year's film looks amazing

Low and Clear's trailer hit the Fly Fishing Film tour in 2011 and I knew this was going to be a special film.  After a successful kickstarter campaign to get the distribution in order, the film is out and I have heard nothing but glowing reviews.

More than fish porn, it tells a very unique story that applies to more than just fishing.





This year's event will again be at the Lincoln Center of Spokane.  Great parking, great viewing space and a full bar will be available.

And the real reason you're coming.  The gigantic schwag pile that is growing by the day

Waders, Boots, Hand Painted Artwork, Rods, Reels, Guided Trips (lots), Shirts, Stickers....on and on and on.  In the first week I have been amazed at the industries willingness to help. 

The money raised will go to the Wild Steelhead Coalition with funds specifically designated to East of the Cascades work on salmon and steelhead restoration. 

Last year we netted over $2,000 in our showing of Confluence Films' Connect. 

I have no reason why we cant make it more this year....but you need to be there to make it happen!

So You Want To Drop Spey Lasers Huh?

Then I suggest you sign up to participate in the Silver Bow Fly Shop's annual Tom Larimer Spey Weekend. 

I began my journey with 2 handed rods in 2009 with the beginner class at this event.  Put it to you this way, it advanced my casting to the point where I felt I could go out and do a bit of damage without looking like a total idiot. 

There's two ways to get better with spey casting

1.  Time on the water

2.  Great instruction

I'd say that great quality instruction is where you can take drastic leaps ahead. 

Tom Larimer is one of the top spey instructors on the West Coast.  He's on staff for several line and rod companies and operates his guide service out of Hood River, OR.

The weekend begins with a steelhead seminar, followed by a beginner and advanced class.   Space is limited in the seminar as well as the classes, so get ahold of Sean and crew and book your spot.

It's time again to celebrate the winter season with the 3rd annual Hooks and Hops event hosted by the Silver Bow Fly Shop

If you havent been, it's a killer event where Sean and his crew pick up your first beer as a thank you for our business and to another great year of fishing. 

Last year there was in excess off 190 folks, and this year with a bigger venue it should be a hell of a party.   2012 brings the show to the Black Diamond Sports Bar in the Spokane Valley where they have acres of free parking and lots of room in the venue.

What a great way to warm up the year, bull sheet a ton and possibly win some great gear.

Millsfy and The Silver Bow Fly Shop are teaming up to host the Spokane premier of Confluence Film's newest project "Connect" Wednesday  February 22nd at The Lincoln Center

Filmed across the world, this film looks like an absolute ripper




All money raised at this event will go to benefit the Wild Steelhead Coalition.

Speaking of raffles and door prizes, we have already been very fortunate to have a lot donated in the first week of gathering items.

So far, we have 2 guided trips with top level steelhead and trout guides, several rods, dvds, lines, hats, t-shirts, and lots of other misc. gear.  It's our goal to have a killer raffle so lots and lots of cheddah is raised for the WSC and  for everyone who comes to have a great shot at winning something nice. 

A couple items of note

1.  The Lincoln Center has a gazillion free parking spaces, so you cant use a lack of parking excuse

2.  If you know Sean from the Silver Bow and I, you are personally responsible for bringing 5 friends to the event

3.  If you don't come, I will personally hunt you down and give you a atomic wedgie.

Apparently this girl kicked his ass on the spray pole and although the picture didnt do her justice, it was a great great battle and she swam away to go do her real job...procreate

Also, Steelface anglers beware as you head eastward this fall.  If you hear a ratt ta tattle....get away.  Sean found this guy sunning himself just feet from his truck.  Narsty little beast
