FFC Fundraiser

This Tuesday, pick up some amazing artwork with 100% of the proceeds going to help children in need in impoverished situations.

Renowned Seattle artist Casey Underwood is stepping up by donating his work to help the Fly Fishing Collaborative in their effort to build self sustaining talapia and produce farms in third world countries that help orphanages expand their capacities

This fall, the FFC is on pace to build their 6th and 7th farm project, this time in Kenya and the funds raised on the 12th will directly impact the success of the upcoming builds.  When completed, another 100 children will be furnished with food and additional care.

The artwork is unbelievable, the cause is just.

In the little town of Old Hazelton, BC, just off the banks of the Skeena River is the home of to some of the most beautiful outdoor art you have ever seen.

Leah Pipe and her gallery Art + Antler is a showcase of "her deep love and respect for the great north and it's history, culture, wildlife and magical experiences"

Not all fish centric, her native themed art is amazing.

But to me, the stars of her artwork are the salmon and steelhead prints and originals that are full of life and detail

The Artwork of Stan Miller

Ladies and Gentlemen,  we have a new emerging angling artist.....Stanley Miller.  Based out of Spokane,  I was extremely impressed with the attention to detail and the story these images bring to life.

Steelhead anglers are especially going to love this 3 painting series.

From Vice To Canvas....

You know what's cool?  When an artist takes what comes off your fly tying vice and turns it into art.

Recently, a local Spokane artist Christina Deubel took one of my traditional steelhead flies and made it part of her exhibit for her April 6th First Friday art showing at the Grande Ronde Cellars in Spokane.

Christina is taking flies from a select few local and national tiers and featuring them in her gallery showing.  A fisherwoman at heart, she was recently struck  by how many of the flies that come off a fly tier's vice are really works of art. 

You dont have to convince me of that.  I am guessing you feel the same.

So on April 6th at 6pm, if you're anywhere near Spokane, we will see you at The Grande Ronde Cellars to see the full lineup of Christina's work

Also a portion of the proceeds is going to fund a program to take disadvantaged youth's fly fishing.

Stickers Done....

Finally, the product is in.....For those of you who commented on my earlier blog post, I will be contacting you to arrange for delivery.

From an idea that began in my head and mixed with the artistic skill of Deanna Camp, out came this logo that we are very proud of.

There are a gazillion different companies out there you can choose to work with and on the internet, finding the right one can be a crap shoot. 

From the moment I started working with Build a Sign, I was impressed.  The customer service was fast, on point and their logo/picture upload was as easy as it could be.  Pretty sure a 5 year old could figure out their online interface. 

In other words, they made it really to work with them

And, I'm pretty damn happy with they end result.
